The Municipal Director of Shinyanga Municipal Council invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for six (06) job vacancies in the council after receiving approval from the President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance. The details are as follows:
1. Driver Grade II – Six Positions
Duties and Responsibilities
Inspect the vehicle before and after trips to ensure it is in safe working condition.
Transport staff to various locations for official duties.
Carry out minor vehicle maintenance.
Collect and distribute various documents.
Record and maintain all trip details in the vehicle logbook.
Keep the vehicle clean at all times.
Perform any other duties assigned by a supervisor.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a Certificate of Secondary Education (Form Four) and a valid Class C or E driving license, with at least one year of driving experience without causing an accident. They must also possess a certificate confirming their qualification for the respective license class. In addition, applicants should have attended a Basic Driving Course from VETA or another government-recognized institution.

General Conditions for Applicants
All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years.
Applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae with a reliable address, reachable phone numbers, email address, and three trustworthy referees.
Applications must include certified copies of academic and professional certificates, verified by an advocate or lawyer. These include Form Four or Form Six certificates (where applicable), as well as certificates for various trainings relevant to the position such as Postgraduate, Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma, or other professional certificates.
Testimonials, provisional results, statement of results, and Form Four or Form Six result slips will not be accepted.
Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified and approved by the relevant authorities such as TCU, NECTA, or NACTE.
Retired public servants are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
Applicants currently employed in entry-level positions in the public service should not apply and must follow the guidelines stated in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30 November 2010.
Submission of false information or forged documents will lead to legal action.
Only applicants who meet the required qualifications will be invited for an interview.
The deadline for submitting applications is 15 April 2026.
Applicants must attach a signed application letter together with their academic certificates. The letter should be addressed to the Municipal Director, Shinyanga Municipal Council, P.O. Box 28, Shinyanga.
