The Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), one of Tanzania’s leading higher learning institutions, was officially established on 1st July 1984 through the Parliamentary Act No. 6 of the same year. This Act was later repealed by the Universities Act No. 7 of 2005, under which SUA was granted its University Charter in 2007.
