The Executive Director of Mbeya District Council wishes to inform all Tanzanians that the Mbeya District Council intends to recruit Contract Employees for the positions of Driver Grade II and Mechanical Technician II, who will work in the Mbeya District Council.
DRIVER GRADE II – VACANCIES (08)
REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT
i. Must have completed Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) and passed.
ii. Must hold a Class C or E driving license for vehicles and have at least one year of practical driving experience.
iii. Must have attended a Basic Driving Course provided by NIT, VETA, or any Government-recognized institution.
iv. The applicant must have a Trade Test Certificate Grade II.
DUTIES / JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Drive passenger cars and trucks.
ii. Ensure vehicles and their equipment are always in good condition and clean, and conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify defects requiring maintenance.
iii. Perform minor repairs and maintenance on vehicles.
iv. Maintain and record all trips in the Log Book.
iv. Perform any other duties assigned by your employer.
SALARY FOR DRIVER GRADE II POSITION:
The monthly salary is Tsh. 350,000/=

MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN II – VACANCY (01)
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
i. Must have a Diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
ii. Must have FTC (Full Technician Certificate) in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
iii. Must have attended Trade Test Level One, Two, or Three in Mechanical or Automobile courses.
iv. Must have at least 3 years of practical experience in vehicle mechanics.
v. Must be a Tanzanian citizen.
DUTIES / JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Perform minor and major repairs on vehicles, machinery, and council generators.
ii. Conduct inspections of vehicles, machinery, and generators of the council and report to your supervisor.
iii. Prepare various reports related to maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and generators.
iv. Perform any other duties assigned by your supervisor or manager.
SALARY FOR MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN II POSITION:
The monthly salary is Tsh. 350,000/=
GENERAL CONDITIONS
The applicant must be a Tanzanian citizen and ready to work at any location within Mbeya District Council.
The applicant must be not more than 45 years old and must not have any criminal record or imprisonment history.
All applications must be accompanied by a detailed personal Curriculum Vitae (C.V.).
All applications must include certified copies of professional certificates, educational certificates (Form IV or VI), birth certificate, and two recent passport-size color photographs with the applicant’s name written on the back.
Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statement of Results, or result slips for Form IV and Form VI will not be accepted.
Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified and recognized by the relevant authorities (TCU and NECTA).
Applicants who are currently employed in the Public Service will not be allowed to apply unless they have written consent from the Permanent Secretary
Submission of false information or forged documents will result in legal action.
The applicant must have a National Identification Card (NIDA) or National Identification Number issued by the National Identification Authority.
