About the Role
As a Main Gate Receptionist in the Defence team, you will play a key role in ensuring all contractors on site are inducted, compliant, and safe. Your work helps create a secure and well-managed environment where operations run smoothly and responsibly.
Working at the heart of the Contractor Control Office, you will support the safe delivery of essential services by maintaining accurate records, managing contractor access, and upholding high standards of health and safety. Your efforts will positively impact colleagues, visitors, and the wider community by ensuring a safe and compliant site.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Managing contractor inductions and ensuring all individuals complete required health and safety briefings annually
- Maintaining accurate records and spreadsheets to support audit requirements and compliance
- Verifying contractor arrivals, sign-in processes, and on-site working locations
- Updating and managing systems such as TOPdesk to ensure records are current and accessible
- Issuing contractor passes and lanyards in line with compliance requirements
- Monitoring and reporting daily contractor numbers to relevant stakeholders
- Providing administrative and front desk support, including handling queries, emails, and phone calls
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
- Strong customer service skills with a proactive and professional approach
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to manage competing priorities and stay composed under pressure
