Key Responsibilities

Supervise underground mechanical teams responsible for equipment installation, repairs, and maintenance.
Oversee maintenance activities involving winches, head frames, and hoisting systems.
Plan and monitor daily mechanical operations to achieve production targets.
Conduct routine inspections and implement preventive maintenance programs.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company procedures, and LOTO requirements.
Provide training and guidance to mechanical fitters and technicians.
Coordinate spare parts and equipment requirements with procurement and inventory departments.
Prepare maintenance and operational reports for management review.
Monitor equipment performance and recommend efficiency improvements.
Promote a strong culture of workplace safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess a Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification. Candidates must have at least five years of experience in underground mining mechanical operations, with proven knowledge of winch systems, head frame structures, and heavy lifting equipment.

Strong leadership abilities, technical troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance are essential for this role. Applicants should also be capable of working effectively in demanding underground mining environments.
