About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of safe, reliable, and compliant transport services. The role focuses on maintaining fleet availability, ensuring vehicles meet operational requirements, and supporting teams in delivering uninterrupted services to the community.
By working closely with stakeholders and maintaining high operational standards, the Transport Manager will help ensure that fleet operations continue to run efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
The Transport Manager will be expected to:
- Ensure compliance with Operator Licence requirements and UK road transport regulations
- Plan and manage vehicle maintenance schedules in line with manufacturer recommendations
- Oversee fleet availability to support operational and contractual requirements
- Monitor the performance of third-party service providers
- Manage vehicle defects, incidents, and breakdowns while ensuring timely resolutions
- Maintain accurate fleet records, compliance documents, driver qualifications, and asset registers
- Support operational teams by ensuring vehicles remain safe and available for service delivery
Candidate Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- A National Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
- Strong understanding of UK and EU road transport legislation
- Previous experience in fleet management within a complex operational environment
- Ability to manage compliance requirements and operational performance data
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
