Food Inspection and Quality Control Officer (Food) – Grade II – Unguja

Position: AFISA UKAGUZI NA UDHIBITI UBORA CHAKULA (FOOD) – DARAJA LA II -UNGUJA

EMPLOYER: TAASISI YA VIWANGO ZANZIBAR (ZBS)

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Conduct inspections and collect food product samples for laboratory analysis.
2. Gather information to support the preparation of inspection plans in accordance with established systems and regulations.
3. Collect samples of food products from clients authorized to use quality marks and certification for inspection purposes.
4. Collect batch label samples at product entry points.
5. Participate in inspections to ensure continuous quality of certified products.
6. Maintain records of food product inspections.
7. Ensure the safety of equipment used during sampling activities.
8. Collect data for the preparation of quarterly, semi-annual, and annual implementation reports and submit them to the relevant authorities.
9. Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Applicant Qualifications

1. Must be a Zanzibari aged not more than forty-five (45) years.
2. Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields: Food Science, Environmental Science, Biology, General Agriculture, Biotechnology, Soil Science, or related disciplines from an institution recognized by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.
3. Must have computer skills.
4. Work experience will be an added advantage.
