About the Company and Position
Global Data Technologies Ltd (GDT) is a Class One Specialized Contractor providing professional ICT, ELV, networking, telecommunications, security, and systems integration solutions across Tanzania. As part of its continued growth, the company is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales and Marketing Officer to drive online sales, digital marketing initiatives, business development, and tender bidding activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding the company’s market presence, generating leads, managing digital platforms, and preparing competitive tender submissions through the NeST (National e-Procurement System of Tanzania) and other applicable procurement portals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Procurement and Supply Management, Information Technology, Public Relations, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Professional certification in Digital Marketing, E-commerce, Procurement, or Business Development will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement online sales and digital marketing strategies to promote the company’s ICT and technology solutions.
- Manage and update the company’s website and social media platforms.
- Generate sales leads through online marketing campaigns and convert them into business opportunities.
- Prepare, coordinate, and submit bids through the NeST platform and other procurement systems.
- Monitor the NeST portal and other tender advertisements for new business opportunities.
- Prepare technical and commercial tender documents in collaboration with technical and finance teams.
- Maintain records of tender submissions, results, and upcoming opportunities.
- Prepare company profiles, brochures, capability statements, and marketing presentations.
- Conduct market research and identify potential clients and business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and strategic partners.
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales and marketing reports.
- Represent the company during exhibitions, business meetings, and promotional events.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing and online sales strategies.
- Experience in using the NeST platform for tender searching, preparation, and submission.
- Excellent proposal writing and tender documentation skills.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite will be an added advantage.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in sales, marketing, business development, or tender management.
- Experience in the ICT, ELV, networking, telecommunications, or engineering sector will be an added advantage.
