The Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) is an independent government department in Tanzania established under the Public Service Act No. 8 of 2002, as amended by Act No. 18 of 2007. Its primary responsibility is to facilitate and oversee the recruitment of employees into the public service.
PSRS aims to become a Centre of Excellence in Public Service recruitment by using modern recruitment approaches that promote fairness, transparency, merit, and equal opportunity. The Secretariat is responsible for recruiting qualified public servants, advising employers on employment matters, and ensuring that recruitment processes are conducted efficiently and equitably.
Through its work, PSRS seeks to strengthen public service delivery in Tanzania by attracting competent personnel while maintaining good relationships with stakeholders and upholding principles of quality, accessibility, and non-discrimination.
