TANZANIA WILDLIFE RESEARCH INSTITUTE (TAWIRI)

The Tanzania Wildlife Research Institute (TAWIRI) is a public institution responsible for conducting and coordinating wildlife research in Tanzania. The Institute is inviting qualified Tanzanians to apply for various vacant positions as detailed below.

1.0 RESEARCH OFFICER II (BEEKEEPING) – 1 POST

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gather relevant literature and write research reports
  • Collaborate with research scientists in dissemination of research findings
  • Collect, process, and analyze wildlife-related data
  • Publish research results in peer-reviewed journals
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Beekeeping from a recognized institution
  • Minimum Upper Second Class or Grade B+

2.0 RESEARCH OFFICER (WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT) – 7 POSTS

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in wildlife research activities
  • Collect, process, and analyze wildlife data
  • Prepare research reports and proposals
  • Publish research findings in journals
  • Collaborate in dissemination of research outputs

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Wildlife Management
  • Minimum Upper Second Class or Grade B+

3.0 RESEARCH ASSISTANT (VETERINARY MEDICINE) – 1 POST

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in experiments and data collection
  • Support disease surveillance activities
  • Assist in data processing and reporting
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine
  • Minimum Upper Second Class or Grade B+

4.0 RESEARCH OFFICER II (VETERINARY MEDICINE) – 1 POST

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct veterinary and wildlife research
  • Carry out disease surveillance and reporting
  • Collect and analyze biological samples
  • Develop wildlife handling protocols
  • Supervise students during practical training
  • Provide veterinary services in wildlife areas
  • Prepare research proposals and publish findings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine
  • Minimum Upper Second Class or Grade B+

GENERAL CONDITIONS

  1. Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens.

  8. GPA evaluation certificates must be attached where required.
