Assistant Stock Accountant – TotalEnergies (Dar es Salaam)

TotalEnergies is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated professional to join our team as an Assistant Stock Accountant in Dar es Salaam. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare fuel and lubricant invoices for SSC processing
  • Support the SSC team in completing various financial transactions
  • Prepare daily Movement Average Price (MAP) reports for products
  • Reconcile vendor accounts and maintain General Ledger (GL) reconciliations
  • Conduct month-end stock takes to identify variances and support SAP processing after approval
  • Post monthly fixed charges including amortization and other fixed expenses
  • Account for local costs related to imported products
  • Capture VAT payments on imported lubricants in a timely manner
  • Reconcile product borrow/loan arrangements with other OMCs
  • Monitor and review inventory transactions for accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare month-end stock reconciliation reports
  • Submit monthly product adjustment reports
  • Perform Class 3 GL analysis every month
  • Prepare and follow up on Priority Accounting Controls (CCP)
  • Respond to inventory queries from external and TRA auditors
  • Track fuel reception losses and MI losses for SAP processing after management approval

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting
  • Strong computer application literacy (SAP experience is an added advantage)
  • 2–3 years of experience in a finance or accounting department
