Posho Mpya Wanaojitolea Serikalini 2026
The Government has established procedures to regulate payments and allowances for Volunteer Youth working within Public Institutions, with the aim of ensuring they receive subsistence support during the volunteer period and to prevent administrative disputes.
- The engagement of volunteer youth within Public Institutions involves costs and resources.
- Therefore, Public Institutions are advised to ensure that they have adequate funds to support these volunteers before entering into agreements with them, in order to avoid potential disputes.
- The office responsible for overseeing Public Service Management shall determine and periodically review the minimum payment rate for volunteer youth within the Public Service.
- The objective is to enable Institutions to plan their budgets and to allow volunteer youth to meet basic expenses such as transport and meals.
- As a starting point, Institutions shall pay volunteer youth an amount of TZS 250,000 per month to cover transport and meal expenses.
- This amount shall be reviewed from time to time in line with prevailing conditions, timing, and the overall economic situation of the country.
- Regarding subsistence allowance, when volunteer youth are required to travel outside their duty stations, they shall be paid half of the subsistence allowance payable to a Public Servant at the entry grade of the relevant cadre.
