The Government of Tanzania has issued guidelines for individuals who wish to volunteer in various government institutions. In these guidelines, it is stated that all individuals who are selected to volunteer in government institutions must comply with all applicable guidelines and professional standards according to the fields they studied. For example, if the volunteers are teachers, they must adhere to all professional ethics and codes of conduct governing the teaching profession.
The guidelines also emphasize that all institutions that will host selected volunteers have a responsibility to support them. Specifically, the institutions should ensure that, where they have the financial capacity, they provide allowances to volunteers as agreed.
However, the guidelines specify a minimum allowance amount, which is two hundred thousand Tanzanian shillings (TZS 200,000) per month, provided as a subsistence or facilitation allowance.
