The Medical Officer in Charge of Tanga Regional Referral Hospital announces to all qualified Tanzanians the opportunity to fill volunteer youth job vacancies as follows:

01. DOCTOR II – 6 POSITIONS

Academic Qualifications:

  • ​Holder of a Degree in Medicine from a government-recognized university, having completed an internship and obtained registration from the Medical Council of Tanganyika.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • ​Perform all medical duties at the hospital related to various diseases, including pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, and major or minor surgeries.
  • ​Provide and supervise health education while improving community health within the District, Region, or workplace.
  • ​Investigate, monitor, and prevent disease outbreaks.
  • ​Maintain and utilize data as directed by MTUHA principles.
  • ​Plan and evaluate health services in the workplace.
  • ​Instruct students and existing staff in the workplace.
  • ​Supervise and guide staff working under them.
  • ​Instruct students in health colleges located in the workplace.
  • ​Design and conduct research and disseminate results.
  • ​Design and prepare strategies to improve the quality of service in their field.
  • ​Prepare plans and budget estimates for health services.
  • ​Participate in, verify, and improve health services (medical audit and quality improvement).
  • ​Provide outreach services within their district/region.
  • ​Perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor related to their education, experience, and skills.

02. ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICER II (ANAESTHESIA) – 3 POSITIONS

Academic Qualifications:

  • ​Diploma in Nursing from a government-recognized college, registered with the Nursing Council of Tanzania, and who attended a one-year course in Safe Anaesthesia.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • ​Provide safe anesthesia services.
  • ​Collect important health data.
  • ​Guide nurses working under them.
  • ​Educate patients and the community about their health problems.
  • ​Provide preventive and reproductive health services.
  • ​Perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor related to their education, experience, and skills.

03. ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICER II – 10 POSITIONS

Academic Qualifications:

  • ​Diploma in Nursing from a government-recognized college, registered with the Nursing Council of Tanzania.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • ​Provide nursing services.
  • ​Collect important health data.
  • ​Guide nurses working under them.
  • ​Educate patients and the community about their health problems.
  • ​Provide preventive and reproductive health services.
  • ​Perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor related to their education, experience, and skills.

04. LAUNDRY ATTENDANT (DOBI) – 1 POSITION

Academic Qualifications:

  • ​Form IV graduate who has received two or three years of training in Laundry Service from government-recognized colleges.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • ​Sort clothes for washing, drying, ironing, and folding.
  • ​Provide reports to the supervisor if clothes are burned or torn for immediate action.
  • ​Maintain all equipment related to laundry work.

GENERAL PAYMENTS

  • ​Travel and food allowance payments will be made in accordance with the 2025 public service volunteering guidelines.

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR THE APPLICANT

  1. ​Must be a Tanzanian citizen aged between 18 and 35 years.
  2. ​Must be a graduate with a certificate, diploma, or degree from a government-recognized college.
  3. ​Must be the legal owner of academic certificates.
  4. ​Must have two guarantors who are public servants.
  5. ​Must have an introductory letter from the Village/Hamlet/Street Executive Officer.
  6. ​Must be ready to volunteer in the relevant area.
  7. ​Must have never been convicted by a court for criminal or disciplinary offenses.
  8. ​Must have good conduct and behavior acceptable to the community.
  9. ​Must have never been employed in any public institution since graduating.
  10. ​Attach copies of certified academic certificates by a legal advocate, National ID/NIDA number, and/or passport and 2 small colored photos.
  11. ​Each applicant must write their correct address and a phone number available at all times for communication.
  12. ​The deadline for receiving applications is February 19, 2026.
