The Momba District Council, located in the Songwe Region of Tanzania, wishes to inform the general public that it is currently inviting qualified Tanzanians to apply for various job positions within the Council.
POSITION TITLE: Driver Grade II
NUMBER OF POSTS: 6
This means that there are six (6) vacancies available for the position of Driver Grade II.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT
Must have a Certificate of Secondary Education (Form IV) and a valid Class E or C driving license. The applicant must have at least one (1) year of work experience in driving without causing any accidents.
In addition, the candidate must possess relevant training certificates that qualify them for the stated license classes. They must also have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA or any other institution recognized by the Government.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF DRIVER II
i. Inspecting the vehicle before and after trips to ensure it is in a safe condition;
ii. Transporting staff to various destinations for official duties;
iii. Performing minor repairs and maintenance on the vehicle;
iv. Collecting and distributing various documents;
v. Filling in and maintaining all trip records in the vehicle logbook;
vi. Cleaning the vehicle.
SALARY SCALE
According to the Government Salary Structure, the position of Driver II falls under Tanzania Government Scale (TGS) B.
