Job Overview

The Solution Architect will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and high-performance technology solutions that support immigration processing, biometric systems, data analytics, and integration services across Tanzania’s international airports.

The successful candidate will translate business and operational requirements into technical solutions while ensuring compliance with Securiport’s global engineering standards. This role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

Define and manage end-to-end solution architecture for CAISS systems.
Translate operational and regulatory requirements into technical designs and architecture documentation.
Develop architecture diagrams, interface specifications, and technical blueprints.
Lead technical decision-making on security, scalability, disaster recovery, and system integration.
Guide engineering teams through development, testing, deployment, and maintenance activities.
Provide mentorship and technical leadership to software engineers and analysts.
Design integrations with biometric devices, cameras, sensors, and third-party systems.
Ensure solutions meet performance, security, and availability requirements across JNIA, AAKIA, KIA, and Zanzibar DR sites.
Participate in software development and contribute directly to critical solution components.
Conduct technical presentations and demonstrations for stakeholders, government representatives, and management teams.
Support innovation by creating new concepts and intellectual property solutions.

Required Skills and Competencies

Applicants should possess:

Strong experience in solution architecture and enterprise software design.
Knowledge of distributed and multi-tier application environments.
Experience leading Agile and Scrum development teams.
Advanced understanding of relational databases and data modelling.
Experience with SQL Server, Power BI, and reporting platforms.
Knowledge of software development frameworks and programming languages.
Experience integrating hardware devices such as biometric systems, cameras, and sensors.
Strong understanding of Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices.
Knowledge of security architecture, identity management, Keycloak, DNS, clustering, monitoring systems, and disaster recovery.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Education and Experience Requirements

To qualify, candidates must have:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in software engineering or related technical roles.
At least 2 years of experience in Solution Architecture, Technical Lead, or Senior Design positions.

Additional advantages include:

Experience with Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS cloud platforms.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes environments.
Knowledge of Apache Kafka distributed systems.
Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and DGraph.

Candidates without a degree may qualify if they possess at least 12 years of relevant professional experience.
