Sifa za Kujiunga na Kidato cha Tano 2026/2027
According to TAMISEMI and NECTA, a student must meet the following requirements to be selected for government schools:
- CSEE Performance (Form Four Results):
- Attain at least Division I, II, or III (Division IV may be considered in limited cases, especially for ordinary schools or middle-level colleges, but opportunities are few).
- Obtain at least three (3) credits (grade D or better) in non-religious or core subjects (not religious subjects only).
- Relevant Subject Combination:
- The student must have subjects that match the intended combination (e.g., PCM requires good passes in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics).
- The government introduced new subject combinations starting from 2024/2025 onwards to increase specialists in areas such as languages, business, arts, sports, and sciences. This may slightly affect selection criteria by expanding options, but the basic pass requirements remain unchanged.
- Points and Cut-Off Points:
- Points are calculated as follows: A = 1, B+ = 2, B = 3, C = 4, D = 5, F = 0.
- Cut-off points (maximum acceptable points) change each year depending on national performance and available slots. Current estimates (from 2025/2026 and recent years) include:
- Ordinary schools: PCM/PCB ~7–11 points, CBG/EGM/HGE ~8–12 points.
- Special/elite schools: Lower points required (approximately 5–9 for science combinations).
