Elewana Collection is currently recruiting a professional and service-driven Restaurant Maître D to join its luxury hospitality team at Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge, located in Arusha, Tanzania. The Restaurant Maître D will play a key leadership role in overseeing daily operations across the restaurant, bar, coffee shop, and special events. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth service delivery, maintain high hospitality standards, and create memorable dining experiences for both VIP and repeat guests.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising food and beverage operations, coordinating service teams, and ensuring consistent guest satisfaction. Duties include leading staff training sessions, conducting service briefings, supporting upselling strategies, managing stock control, and maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards.
In addition, the Maître D will oversee wine, coffee, and beverage service quality, coordinate MICE functions (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), and monitor customer feedback to improve service delivery. Strong leadership and the ability to manage high-pressure hospitality environments are essential.
Requirements
Applicants must hold a Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Services, or a related field. A minimum of five years’ experience in a senior restaurant or F&B supervisory role is required, preferably within luxury hotels or fine dining establishments.
Candidates should demonstrate strong knowledge of restaurant operations, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead diverse teams effectively. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays is mandatory.
