Taking into account the importance of having the correct number of 12 weeks of learning per year as required by the curriculum, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has prepared the Academic Terms Calendar for Pre-primary, Primary, and Secondary Schools (Forms I–IV) for the 2026 academic year.
It is important to adhere to the implementation of this Calendar as planned in order to avoid challenges related to incomplete teaching and learning of all topics on time, which may result in creating teaching and learning schedules that deny children/students the opportunity to rest.
Importance of Mihula ya Masomo 2026

Academic terms help schools plan teaching time so that all topics in the syllabus are taught completely and in the right sequence. This prevents rushing or skipping important content.
