BELARUS Scholarships For 2026/2027 Academic Year

BELARUS PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2026/2027

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology wishes to inform the general public that the Government of the Republic of Belarus is offering state-funded study

placements (partial scholarship)) available to foreign nationals for the 2026/2027 academic year. Citizens of the United Republic of Tanzania who meet the eligibility criteria are invited to apply.

1. Fields of Study

(i) Applicants may choose from a wide range of academic disciplines offered at public universities and colleges in Belarus.

(ii) Applicants are encouraged to indicate their preferred area of study during the application process.

(iii) A list of available universities and programmes is provided on the website indicated in Section 7.

2. Eligibility and Admission Requirements

All applicants must ensure they meet the admission requirements of both the Tanzanian education system and the respective Belarusian institution.

(i) Undergraduate (Bachelor’s Degree): Must have completed CSEE and ACSEE with good academic results.

Final admission will depend on the host university’s assessment.

(ii) Master’s Degree: Must hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree with good academic standing.

(iii) Doctoral (PhD): Must hold a relevant Master’s degree.

(iv) Language Proficiency: Most programmes are taught in Russian or Belarusian. Applicants without sufficient language skills may be required to take a preparatory language course (usually self-funded).

3. Scholarship Coverage

The Government of Belarus will provide:

(i) Full tuition fee waiver (funded by the state budget);

(ii) A monthly stipend, which may include additional allowances based on academic performance; and

(iii) Student accommodation in university dormitories for the duration of studies.

4. Costs Not Covered by the Scholarship

Applicants should note that the following expenses are not covered by the Belarusian

Government and must be met by the student or other sponsors:

(i) International air travel;

(ii) Meals and daily living expenses;

(iii) Health insurance;

(iv) Visa fees and migration registration costs.

Important: The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania will not provide any additional financial support for this programme. Applicants are therefore advised to ensure they have adequate personal or external funding for the above expenses.

5. Required Documents

Applicants must submit their application together with the following documents (with notarized translations into Russian or Belarusian, where required):

1. A signed application letter (free-form), stating the chosen field of study and motivation for applying.

2. Certified copies of academic certificates and transcripts (or an official letter showing current student status and results).

3. Copy of a valid passport or national ID.

4. Proof of language proficiency in Russian or Belarusian (if available).

5. Medical fitness certificate and HIV test certificate from a recognized health facility.

6. Recommendation or character letter from the applicant’s current institution (if applicable).

7. Proof of Belarusian origin (if applicable).

8. Any other supporting documents that may grant preferential consideration.

6. Application and Submission Process

Stage 1 – Submission through the Embassy of Belarus

Applications must be submitted through the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Nairobi, which is accredited to Tanzania.

Do not apply through online portals.

Stage 2 – University Interview and Selection

• Universities will notify shortlisted candidates about interviews by 20 May 2026.

• Interviews (including language proficiency checks) will be conducted by 15 June

2026, possibly online.

• Successful applicants will receive official admission letters for visa processing.
