Dodoma, Tanzania’s capital, is located at 6°10’23’’S, 35°44’31’’E, 455 km west of Dar es Salaam, 441 km south of Arusha, and 259 km north of Iringa. Covering 2,669 km², with 625 km² urbanized, the city has a semi-arid climate with warm temperatures year-round and average minimums of 13°C in July. Annual rainfall averages 570 mm, mostly between November and April.
The city is accessible via the refurbished Dodoma Airport, the Central Railway Line linking it to Dar es Salaam, and major highways connecting it to Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, and Arusha. The University of Dodoma (UDOM), 8 km east of the city center, is easily reachable by public transport.
